GRANT PROGRAM

The New Hampshire Veterinary Center for Wildlife (NHVCW) is proud to support New Hampshire veterinarians, licensed wildlife rehabilitators, and prospective Level 1 rehabilitators through targeted grant funding. This program is designed to enhance the medical care and rehabilitation of native wildlife by funding specialized equipment and professional training.

Grant Program

The New Hampshire Veterinary Center for Wildlife has established a $50,000 grant pool. Once the required online Grant Application has been completed, the approval process is as follows:

  • For grants up to and including $1,500 – the Center’s board chair may approve singularly.
  • For grants exceeding $1,500 – please provide the required documentation and contact us directly. For grants at this level, our full board of directors must review and approve.

Fund the Purchase of an Incubator

These warming units can nurse an injured bird or mammal or a brood of young animals.

Eligibility

To be eligible for a New Hampshire Veterinary Wildlife Center grant, applicants must:

  • Be a New Hampshire licensed veterinarian or N.H. licensed wildlife rehabilitator
  • Be a prospective rehabilitator actively working on your Class 1 training
  • Demonstrate active involvement in wildlife care or rehabilitation
  • Use funds preferentially for wildlife-specific medical equipment or training

Required Materials

You will need to include the following with your online application:

  • Proof of veterinary license or wildlife rehabilitation permit (License/Permit Number and Issuance Date), if applicable.
  • If you are an existing licensed wildlife rehabilitator or prospective licensed wildlife rehabilitator, you must also provide your veterinarian of record’s contact information and the tenure and extent of your relationship. Please let them know that we will contact them; alternatively, you may have your veterinarian contact us directly with their statement of support.
